In what was by far Joba’s best start of his short career, he gave the Yankees and their fans a mere glimpse of his potential as a front line starter. The offense fired on all cylinders with Robinson Cano hitting his first home run in more than a month while going 3 for 5. Bobby Abreu crushed former Yankee T.J Beam’s offering in the 6th inning to right field for a three run home run. He has now hit home runs in consecutive games and has ten for the season. Every Yankees starter with the exception of Joba had a hit and four batters had two or more hits.Justin Christian started in left field for Johnny Damon for the second game in a row. Damon whose ailing left arch is going to cause him to miss a few more games and possibly a trip to the disabled list, sat out for the second straight game. Christian went 1-4 with an infield single and four runs scored.

Hideki Matsui also sat out with his lingering left knee problems and it is more than likely he’ll sit out again tomorrow.. Could it be possible that the Rangers are going after star Maple Leaf and soon to be free agent Mats Sundin? It might just be true that they are, as the NY Post was reporting. Glen Sather might be going after Sundin to play on the first line with Jagr.Let’s break down the pros and cons of this deal.Let’s start with the pros first.- Sundin will bring the leadership and the skill on the power play that the Rangers have desperately needed over the past couple of years.- Signing Sundin will give both players, Jagr and Sundin, someone to feed off of Jagr will probably score more goals and Sundin can too. I’m not saying that Drury or Dubinsky won’t be a factor in this signing. They will have the biggest job of them all: setting up plays. Those are the pros of this situation; now let’s go over the cons.Like every Ranger fan has been saying, the main con with this deal is that Sundin is too old. He’s 37 years old.Sure he’s nearing the end of his career and so is Jagr, but did you see Jagr last year in the playoffs? Sundin is just as good, plus the way the Rangers have been going since the lockout year, Sundin will finally see some playoff action.I think that if the deal goes through, that it will be a good thing for the team.

It will bring the team even more leadership, with Jagr, Shanahan, and now Sundin.. Anytime a sport comes to its draft, and the team you follow gets closer and closer to its pick, a switch clicks inside you.I hope they pick Durant over Oden He’s such a good scorer. He could lead the league in scoring right away! (Not.)You know you’ve done this Admit it. You’ll feel better, I promise. With this in mind, I have decided to tackle what I feel it must be like to be a general manager in the world of sports today. If I could pick any team to run, I would run the Indianapolis Colts.

This was a tough decision for me, as the Pistons and Red Sox are teams I would also want to run, but the Colts’ job seems like it would be the easiest to step in right now and keep things on track. With the Sox you have an intense media, and (I’ll say it) the Pistons are in turmoil right now. Even though they are my favorite basketball team, this is honestly not the time to step in This is a team in transition. I really hope their decisions in the next few weeks work out, but I’m definitely not envious of Joe Dumars right now.The Colts have good, family values, and the organization has run smoothly in the Polian-Irsay era. There just seems to be no pressure on the guys running the team, they seem so nonchalant. Maybe it’s just their personalities, but I would want to see for myself. With that settled, which sport would be the easiest to run a team in, or which sport needs a GM the most? This is tough I would have to go with baseball.
